CALL FOR GRADUATE STUDENT LEADERSHIP TEAM

The Executive Director of PAC-TE is soliciting a call for applicants for a maximum of 10 graduate students to serve on the PAC-TE Graduate Student Leadership Team (GSLT) for a maximum of a 2-year period while they are enrolled as a graduate student.

This is a wonderful opportunity for graduate students enrolled in an Institution of Higher Education (IHE) in PA to become involved in a leadership position at the state level with fellow graduate students and professionals from across Pennsylvania who are engaged in educator preparation. Graduate Student Leadership Team members would have a range of opportunities to collaborate with current PAC-TE members and teacher education stakeholders across the state, attend and assist with annual fall and spring conferences, as well as develop their own professional network through connections made within PAC-TE.

Additional benefits of acceptance:

  • free PAC-TE student membership for each year serving on the GSLT
  • free registration to both the Fall Teacher Education Assembly (TEA) and Spring Conference for each year serving on the GSLT
  • Stipend plus meal and mileage reimbursement for participation at the Fall TEA

Responsibilities of those accepted:

  • attend and assist with the fall TEA (annual conference in late October)
    • Assistance prior to the conference may include brainstorming and implementing ideas for conference attendee engagement
    • Assistance during the conference may include, but is not limited to:
      • Assisting with attendee check-in
      • Assisting with preparations the night prior to the conference
      • Assisting with technology/conference website/app
      • Serving as a presider for sessions
      • Co-facilitating a collaborative session with a PAC-TE committee or board member
    • Submit a 1-page Reflection at the conclusion
    • Additional opportunity to get involved with the planning committee throughout the year
  • attend and assist with the one-day Spring Conference (virtual)
    • Assistance during the conference may include, but is not limited to:
      • Assisting with technology/conference website/app
      • Serving as a presider for sessions
      • Co-facilitating a collaborative session with a PAC-TE committee or board member
    • Submit a 1-page Reflection at the conclusion
    • Additional opportunity to get involved with the planning committee throughout the year
  • Participation in networking or collaborative opportunities presented to the GSLT throughout the year

Possible Renewal on GSLT for a 2nd year: Graduate Student Leadership Team members will have the option of continuing their membership for a second year, after a review by the Graduate Student Leadership Committee on their level of engagement during the first year receiving the award.
