PAC-TE’s Teacher Educator of the Year Award
The PAC-TE Teacher Educator of the Year (TEOY) Award is conferred upon an individual who has directly participated in and contributed to the preparation of candidates for teacher certification in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Candidates may be nominated by PAC-TE members or may be self-nominated with an attached letter of endorsement from a PAC-TE member. Application is found below.
Eligibility
1. Candidates for the TEOY Award must be currently employed in a educator preparation capacity in Pennsylvania at a PAC-TE-member institution.
2. Membership may be verified via an email to the Executive Director at joel@pac-te.org.
3. Nominations will be reviewed by a committee chaired by the Past President.
4. The winner of the award will be announced in October at our Teacher Education Assembly.
Selection Criteria
Nominees will be evaluated according to the narratives provided in the application sections below. The committee is looking for evidence of the nominee's extraordinary work. That evidence will include:
1. Professional Preparation and Professional Work Experience of The Nominee - Degrees and certifications held. Describe in detail the nominee’s current position, role, and responsibilities as they relate to the preparation of pre-service educators. List past work experience relevant to teacher preparation and current professional development activity.
2. Leadership - List offices held in organizations, leadership in university committees, innovative projects, and collaboration between basic education and higher education.
3. Scholarship - Presentations at national, state, and/or regional conferences; involvement in learned societies; publications.
4. Service/Involvement in PAC-TE - Role and positions or offices held.
5. Membership in Other Professional Organizations - Role and positions held.
