President's Report
September 18, 2009

Since the June 2009 retreat of the PAC-TE Board of Directors, I have engaged in the following association-related activities:

  • Attended the August and September State Board of Education meetings and offered testimony at the August meeting on the post-baccalaureate guidelines;
  • Met with Terry Barnaby and Abbey Smith on the updates of the electronic application;
  • Worked with the committee on the ATE Teacher Education Standards;
  • Worked with the committee on forming interest groups/divisions within PAC-TE;
  • Answered e-mails and phone calls from members expressing concerns about the new program approval process/application;
  • Maintained contact with other organizations working on issues related to teacher education;
  • Wrote a column for Newsnotes;
  • Cooperatively developed with Jim Flynn the agenda for the September 2009 Board meeting.
