President's Report
January 2009

Since the October board meeting:

• I attended and testified at the House Education Committee Hearing on implementation of Chapter 49. My testimony focused on the three resolutions passed at the PAC-TE Annual Business Meeting.

• I participated in a meeting and conference call for the LFTE grant planning committee. Additionally I met with Terry Barnaby to discuss coordination of the PDE grant and LFTE grant projects.

• I attended the November State Board of Education meeting. The main focus of this meeting was a report and discussion on the cost of higher education for students and families in Pennsylvania.

• I prepared a column for Newsnotes and submitted items to TidBits to keep members informed of changes/happenings with the changes in certification. I attended a webinar on the new program approval application.
