PAC-TE is a nonprofit corporation for all those in Pennsylvania who are engaged in the preparation and development of professional educators.

THE PURPOSE OF PAC-TE AS THE VOICE FOR PROFESSIONAL EDUCATOR PREPARATION IN PENNSYLVANIA SHALL BE:

  1. to promote quality professional educator preparation programs, and
  2. to provide opportunity for individual professional growth for all persons in Pennsylvania engaged in professional educator preparation.

PAC-TE IS DEDICATED TO PROVIDING STRONG ADVOCACY FOR PROFESSIONAL EDUCATOR PREPARATION WITHIN THE COMMONWEALTH BY:

  1. promoting quality programs of professional educator preparation;
  2. working with professional colleagues who are dedicated to the concept of education for all children and youth;
  3. collaborating with professionals who believe that the quality of education depends upon the effectiveness of those who teach and support teaching;
  4. advocating the improvement of professional educator performance and professional educator preparation programs;
  5. providing opportunities for the individual professional growth of all persons who are concerned with professional educator preparation; and
  6. serving various councils and committees of national, state, and local government and professional associations in the ongoing effort to improve the professional status and image of professional educator preparation.

PAC-TE INFLUENCES TEACHER EDUCATION BY:M

  1. providing a variety of forums for discussion of issues that are of concern to all who are engaged in professional educator preparation;
  2. serving as a unified, collective voice for professional educator preparation in Pennsylvania;
  3. facilitating and coordinating the development of teacher education associations and the individual professional development of teacher educators and other professional educators; and
  4. maintaining its role as one of the most active and supportive state affiliates of ATE and AACTE.

PAC-TE SEEKS MEMBERS WHO ARE ENGAGED IN THE PREPARATION OF PROFESSIONAL EDUCATORS TO INCLUDE:

  1. regionally accredited colleges, universities, and community colleges in Pennsylvania engaged in the preparation of professional educators (Institutional Members);
  2. individuals (Individual Members):
    • currently involved with preparing for professional educator certification (students)
    • involved with or retired from preparing others for professional educator certification, such as:
      • basic education professionals
      • higher education professionals
      • state department of education or state board of education officials
    • serving as or retired from serving as a certificated professional educator
  3. individuals interested in professional educator preparation and not eligible for institutional or individual membership, and any salesperson, manufacturer’s representative, or allied industry representative supplying, cooperating with or supporting educator preparation (Associate Members)
