Executive Director's Report
September 18, 2009

Since the June 22-23, 2009 Retreat of the PAC-TE Board of Directors, I have engaged in the following association-related activities:

  • Completed and mailed the minutes of the annual retreat
  • Assigned TEA presiders
  • Sent letters to TEA presiders regarding their assignments
  • Met with Linda Cook regarding upcoming responsibilities as executive director; visited Creative Imprints Systems in Erie, Pa.
  • Completed a second draft of the TEA program including PERA presenters
  • Completed a third draft of the TEA program including journal presenters
  • Met with Linda Cook and Patti Loomis (typist and webmaster) on July 14
  • Visited Piper Press at Edinboro University with Linda Cook on July 14
  • Sent memos to presenters with unpaid TEA registration fees
  • Sent memo to journal authors regarding payment of TEA registration fees
  • Wrote a column and coordinated the publication of summer 2009 News Notes
  • Sent reminder letts to institutions with unpaid dues
  • Constructed the ballot for PAC-TE 2009 elections
  • Wrote a column and coordinated the publication of the special TEA edition of News Notes
  • Mailed ballot and candidate information to members via special edition News Notes
  • Delivered special edition News Notes to Thomas Lee Printing and Mailing in Erie, Pa.
  • With President Ruthkosky, formulated agenda for the September 18 meeting of the Board of Directors
  • Electronically mailed meeting agenda and other relevant materials to the Board of Directors.

Executive Director-Elect's Report
September 18, 2009

Since the April 15, 2009, meeting of the PAC-TE Board of Directors, I have engaged in the following association-related activities:

  • Conferred with Jim Flynn on executive director duties
  • Observed at the 2009 TEA planning meeting on May 19, 2009
  • Observed during the June 22 portion of the June 22-23 board retreat meeting
  • Began the development of a detailed calendar of executive director duties and important dates related to association business
  • Met with Jim Flynn and Patti Loomis (clerical support and webmaster) to discuss procedures for updating and reporting from membership databases, posting to the association website and forwarding material for association publications
  • Accompanied Jim Flynn to Creative Imprints to meet the staff, discuss procedures for ordering and ordered padfolios for TEA conference distribution
  • Accompanied Jim Flynn to Piper Press to meet the staff and discuss procedures for placing and paying for print orders
  • Received institutional and individual membership checks, forwarded checks to the treasurer, forwarded database information to the secretary, and responded to phone calls and e-mail questions on association membership
  • Took delivery from Jim Flynn of PAC-TE plaques, Pennsylvania Teacher Educator back issues, and archival materials.
