Executive Director's Report
April 15, 2010

Since the January 2010 meeting of the PAC-TE Board of Directors, I have engaged in the following association-related activities:

  • Membership
    • received institutional and individual membership checks, forwarded checks to the Treasurer, forwarded database information to the Secretary
    • revised institutional and membership materials in preparation for 2010-2011 membership campaign
    • prepared individual membership forms for use at Spring Conference, where we will encourage individual memberships for 2010-11

  • Spring Conference 2010 Planning
    • supported the planning committee
    • developed, coordinated printing of and distributed the registration form via mailing, Web site posting, and e-mail
    • received and processed registrations and checks
    • prepared registration packets to include programs, name tags and ribbons, ATE materials, certificates of attendance, evaluation forms, and receipts
    • coordinated hotel details to include room setups, food/beverages, and technology
    • supported and provided information to speakers and presiders
    • developed structure and reporting for breakout session networking and debriefing

  • TEA 2010 Planning
    • received TEA proposals, followed by e-mail confirmation, copying, and preparation for committee review
    • re-advertised the Call for Proposals via e-mail
    • re-advertised the extension of the Call for Proposals deadline to April 10
    • prepared a scheduling chart for the review of the planning committee and Board
    • received e-mail from Carol Pate that PERA will not co-sponsor the Fall 2010 TEA

  • Board Support
    • prepared for the April 15 Board meeting to include agenda development with the President, facility coordination, registration, booking of lodging, and dinner reservation
    • participated in the Divisions Committee phone conference and developed recommendations for policies and procedures to support the committee’s recommendations
    • discussed special interest groups and government relations policies with ATE Executive Director David Ritchey
    • developed recommendations of corporate and association membership policies and fee structure for the consideration of the Board
    • completed and submitted the AACTE Annual State Chapter AACTE Report

  • Member Communications
    • sent numerous Tidbits e-mails to the membership – TEA Call for Proposals, Spring Conference Registration flyer, PAC-TE journal call for papers, two School funding Campaign reports from PAC-TE’s representative Mary Dupuis, AACTE/ACSR report from PAC-TE’s representative Jane Bray, information on USC’s application for approval of a MAT online degree, information on PDE’s proposal for a residency certificate, three position announcements, numerous EPLC newsletters, NSTA/NCATE workshop flyer, PDE Standards-Aligned Systems workshop flyer, and the Winter PDS conference flyer

  • Board Representation
    • attended the Education and Policy 2010 Education Issues Workshop for PA Legislative Candidates, Campaign Staff and Interest in Monroeville on March 26
