PAC-TE Annual Business Meeting
Minutes
The annual PAC-TE Business Meeting was held on October 26, 2006, at the Harrisburg/Hershey Holiday Inn in Grantville, Pa. There were 207 members in attendance.
Minutes of the October 13, 2005, meeting were approved under a motion by Robert Bartos, seconded by Carol Melvin Pate.
President Clythera Hornung's report was moved for approval by Linda Norris and seconded by Lois Larson Johnson. The motion passed unanimously.
The Executive Director's report by James Flynn was approved without dissent under a motion by Sarah DeHaas, seconded by Mary Dupuis.
Treasurer Susan Criswell's reports were approved by unanimous vote as follows:
- Association Account: motion by Jean James, seconded by Cynthia Haggard
- Conference Account: motion by Diana Bohl, seconded by Kathy Bukowski
The president's, executive director's and treasurer's reports can all be accessed on the website.
There was no old business.
New business focused entirely on awards presentations. Pennsylvania Educational Research Association President Colleen Willard-Holt acknowledge the new partnership with PAC-TE and announced grant opportunities sponsored by PERA.l Iris Striedick (PERA) reported that research paper awards were extended to Jane Wilburne (Penn State) and Michael Long (Shippensburg).
Next, PAC-TE President Clythera Hornung presented awards for Board of Directors' service to Robert Bartos, John Butzow and Ranny Singiser. Mary Ann Rafoth accepted for John Butzow.
PAC-TE's most prestigious award, Teacher Educator of the Year, was extended to Dr. Susan Criswell of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.
There was no further business, and the meeting adjourned at 1:37 p.m. under a motion by Mary Dupuis, seconded by Michele Cheyne.
